Chandrashekhar Azad, leader of Azad Samaj Party and MP from Nagina, revealed on the Unmute Bharat podcast that the alliance with Congress for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections fell through due to a condition requiring the alliance to cover Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab together, not just one state. He said Congress wanted to finalize only UP first. Ahead of 2027 elections, he emphasized that alliance terms will be decided by them and stressed no permanent friends or enemies in politics. Azad also mentioned a conversation with Priyanka Gandhi and commented on student protests over the NEET issue.
