Chainsaw Attack Victim Gopika Undergoes Surgeries, Classmates Counseled

Gopika, a Class X student attacked with a chainsaw by Hemanth inside her Andhra Pradesh government school classroom, was shifted to Bengaluru on October 31 for advanced treatment. Manipal Hospital doctors performed successful orthopaedic and plastic surgeries. She is now in the Pediatric ICU for monitoring. Classmates and the teacher who witnessed the attack received counseling. Another student, Lakshmi, was also injured in the leg.
