BusinessCentre to Propose Five-Pronged GST Reform Plan on October 8
The Centre will propose a five-pronged reform plan for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system at the GST Council meeting on October 8. The reforms aim to automate processes, ease compliance, and reduce administrative burdens, especially for small businesses. Key proposals include automatic invoice matching, simplified input tax credit claims, fewer return filings for small taxpayers, and removal of multi-state registrations for small sellers. GST rates and MDR on UPI transactions are not on the agenda.
