Centre Sends 250 RAF Personnel to Arunachal Amid Siang Project Violence

Following violent protests against the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh, the Centre dispatched two Rapid Action Force companies totaling about 250 personnel to Pasighat. The Ministry of Home Affairs directed their airlift from Navi Mumbai via IAF aircraft. The RAF units are expected to deploy by Sunday to restore order after mobs torched NHPC offices, a police station, and attacked homes of political leaders in East Siang district.
