Centre Revises Highway Contract Security for Top-Rated Contractors
The Indian government has updated performance security requirements for national highway contractors based on their ratings. Contractors rated above 80% must deposit 3% of the project value, while those with lower ratings will deposit 4% or 5%. This move aims to encourage quality construction and improve contractors' cash flow. New standards for land acquisition and compensation have also been introduced.
