Centre Raises MSP for Rabi Crops in 2027-28; Safflower Sees Highest Increase

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by PM Narendra Modi, approved higher minimum support prices (MSPs) for six mandated rabi crops for the 2027-28 season. The new MSP for wheat is Rs 2,610 per quintal. The government ensures at least a 50% margin over production costs, with expected returns ranging from 50% to 106% across crops.
