Centre Launches National PNG Drive 3.0 to Expand Natural Gas Use

The Indian government has launched National PNG Drive 3.0 to modernize kitchen fuel delivery by expanding piped natural gas (PNG) networks. Running from October 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, the initiative aims to add 50 lakh new household connections, secure 50 lakh new registrations, and reactivate 40 lakh inactive connections across urban and rural areas. PNG provides continuous gas supply directly to kitchens, eliminating the need for LPG cylinders and reducing delivery hassles.
