Centre forms panel to probe cheetah cub shooting in Madhya Pradesh

The Union Government has formed a high-level committee to investigate the shooting of a 19-month-old cheetah cub outside Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. The cub, named KGN22 and offspring of female cheetah Nirva, was found injured on October 25 in Sheopur Territorial Forest Division. Officials suspect self-defence shooting after mistaking the cub for a leopard but have not ruled out poaching.
