Centre Approves 3% DA Hike for Govt Employees from July 2026

The Centre has approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, raising the rate from 60% to 63% of basic pay under the 7th Pay Commission. Effective July 1, 2026, this hike will benefit about 48 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners, costing the government Rs 10,016 crore annually. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced this after the October 28 Cabinet meeting.
