HealthCentral Government Tightens Control on Narcotic Drugs, Seeks State Support
The central government is intensifying its crackdown on the purchase, sale, and use of counterfeit narcotic drugs. The Drug Advisory Panel recommended stricter monitoring of narcotic and psychotropic substances. Linked to the 'Vision Document on Drug Control 2026-2029,' the government has sought state assistance. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization aims to address regulatory gaps by March 2027 and develop a reliable national database for manufacturing, sales, stocking, inspection, and enforcement of such drugs.
