BusinessCEA Nageshwaran: AI Investment Will Strengthen India; US Sanctions Mumbai Firms
Chief Economic Advisor V Anantha Nageshwaran stated that the lack of AI-focused investment opportunities in the stock market could become a strength for India within a year. Foreign investors selling now may return to bet on India's strong economic fundamentals. He noted West Asia conflicts pressured foreign capital and the rupee, but India could be a safe option if the global AI boom slows. The US imposed sanctions on two Mumbai companies and five Indians for alleged illegal trade of Iranian petroleum and petrochemical products, blocking transactions involving key individuals linked to SSPPL Solutions and Samudra Marine Services.
