India's Chief Economic Advisor V. Anant Nageswaran has issued a financial warning amid global excitement about artificial intelligence (AI). He stated that if current high expectations for AI prove wrong, the financial burden will fall on finance ministries, central banks, and households. Even if AI meets expectations, these entities will still bear some costs. He identified five key risks, including the adverse impact on jobs, especially entry-level positions, with companies cutting junior staff hiring. A study of 41 countries showed a significant decline in junior workforce shares in 23 countries.
