CDS to Announce Two-Year Service Extension for Agniveers

Chief of Defence Staff General NS Raja Subramani will soon announce a two-year service extension for Agniveers, allowing those who wish to continue serving to do so. This decision comes before the phased release of 75% of the first batch of Agniveers starting mid-November. Over 18,300 Agniveers were scheduled to exit by December 31 after their four-year term under the Agnipath recruitment model introduced in 2022.
