CCPA Fines Britannia Rs 1 Lakh for Misleading Whole Wheat Bread Claim

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) fined Britannia Industries Rs 1 lakh for falsely advertising its bread as "100% whole wheat" when it contains only 62% wheat. CCPA Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare ordered Britannia to stop the misleading ads across all media and submit a compliance report within 15 days. The product also contains rice bran and other ingredients.
