CBI Seeks Custody of Saurabh Chandrakar to Identify Officials in Mahadev Scam

The CBI has secured eight days' custody of Saurabh Chandrakar, alleged kingpin of the Rs 6,000-crore Mahadev betting app scam, to identify Chhattisgarh officials who received protection money. Chandrakar was extradited from Oman on November 1. The agency claims he and associates paid police, administrative officials, and politicians to protect their syndicate, using hawala operators to channel illegal payments.
