The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has charged Future Retail Limited promoters, including Kishore Biyani, with defrauding the State Bank of India of ₹904.32 crore. Once a retail industry leader, Biyani’s Future Group faced financial troubles leading to insolvency. Legal battles with Amazon and Reliance further complicated matters, culminating in Future Retail’s liquidation filing in 2023. CBI conducted searches in Mumbai and seized relevant documents on November 6, 2026.
