Cauvery Committee directs Karnataka to release 3,000 cusecs to Tamil Nadu

The Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) has ordered Karnataka to release 3,000 cusecs of water daily from its Cauvery basin reservoirs to Tamil Nadu for 15 days starting October 9. The total release will be 3.88 tmcft. The Cauvery Water Management Authority endorsed this decision. Karnataka cited severe water shortages and lowest inflows in 30 years, with a 54.53% deficit in the basin.
