Carl Jones Revives Mauritius Kestrel from Four to 600
In 1974, the Mauritius kestrel population dwindled to just four known individuals, including one breeding pair, pushing the species to the brink of extinction. Welsh conservationist Carl Jones led an intensive conservation effort with a team of researchers, successfully increasing their numbers to around 600, saving the species from extinction.
