PoliticsCAQM Panel Proposes Phasing Out Petrol-Diesel Cars by 2040 in Delhi-NCR
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) expert panel recommends a phased transition to zero-emission vehicles in Delhi-NCR by 2040. The 15-member committee suggests phasing out BS-IV vehicles by 2030, stopping new petrol-diesel car registrations from 2031, and eliminating BS-VI two-wheelers by 2035 and four-wheelers by 2040. The plan aims to reduce vehicular pollution in the region.
