CAQM Orders Prosecution of Gurugram Official for Dust Control Failure

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has directed the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to prosecute Executive Engineer Surender Sheoran and other officials for failing to implement dust mitigation measures. The action follows a complaint about mismanagement of mechanised road-sweeping machines. Prosecution will proceed under Section 14(2) of the CAQM Act, 2021, before a judicial magistrate.
