Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian Flydubai pilot injured during a cockpit attack on a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight, is being considered for a national bravery award. Despite serious injuries, he safely diverted the plane carrying 174 passengers to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The Federation of Indian Pilots praised his courage and professionalism, and Gujarat CM awarded him the Vishishtha Gujarat Garima Award. PM Modi and others have lauded his bravery.
