Cancer Drug Prices Cut Up to 93%, Major Relief for Patients

The NPPA's new price list has slashed prices of some cancer drugs by up to 93%. Palbociclib capsules, previously costing ₹40,421 per pack, will now be available for ₹2,720. Thiotepa injections will drop from ₹80,072 to ₹7,150. These new rates take effect from November 9. However, some drugs like Osimertinib for lung cancer remain priced at ₹4.16 lakh. The government’s decision aims to ease the financial burden on cancer patients.
