Calcutta HC Seeks Affidavits in KMC Ward Delimitation Challenge

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday refused to intervene immediately in a petition challenging the delimitation of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) wards. The proposal aims to increase wards from 144 to 209 ahead of KMC elections later this year. Justice Hiranmay Bhattacharya directed both the West Bengal government and the petitioner to submit affidavits within four weeks. The next hearing date is yet to be announced.
