Cabinet Secretariat Planned to Seek CEC’s View on ECs’ Complaint Against Maneesh Garg

After Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi complained to Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan about Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Maneesh Garg, an RTI revealed the Cabinet Secretariat intended to consult Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Official files showed the Secretariat acknowledged the complaints on August 5 and sent copies to the CEC, noting the letters were from the ECs individually, not the entire Election Commission, to avoid interference in the constitutional body.
