Cabinet Approves 3% DA Hike from July 1 for Central Employees

The Union Cabinet approved a 3 percentage point increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for central government employees and pensioners, effective July 1, 2026. This raises DA and DR from 60% to 63% of basic pay and pension, benefiting over 11.6 million people. The annual cost to the government will be ₹10,016 crore, based on the 7th Central Pay Commission formula.
