ScienceBurglars Identified from Airborne DNA 30 Minutes After Crime
A study by Oslo University Hospital found that burglars can be identified from airborne DNA left behind at crime scenes. Volunteers who simulated house ransacking were detected through genetic material suspended in the air up to 30 minutes after leaving. This environmental DNA includes skin cells, dandruff, and saliva, providing new forensic evidence to link suspects to locations even without direct contact.
