A British Airways flight BA295 from London to Chicago declared an emergency after descending about 28,000 feet over Ireland. The Boeing 777-200ER, which took off from Heathrow Terminal 5, squawked the 7700 code indicating a general emergency. After reaching cruising altitude, the plane rapidly descended to 9,000 feet and was diverted back to London instead of Chicago O'Hare Airport.
