Brent crude oil prices surged past $110 per barrel for the first time since May due to escalating attacks in West Asia. Iranian strikes, Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict have disrupted global energy markets. On Friday, Brent crude closed at $109.86, up 3.7%, while US WTI rose 3.5% to $101.41. At least nine commercial ships and oil tankers were attacked in the strategic Strait of Hormuz since Sunday, including the sinking of container ship GFS Pride by Iran.
