The Bombay High Court ruled in favor of over 40 private-sector employees, directing the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to process and approve their claims for higher pensions under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995 within eight weeks. The judgment addressed whether EPFO could reject higher pension applications due to employer PF trust rules capping contributions at the statutory wage ceiling. Employees from Abbott India, Tata Communications, Raymond Steel, and BEST Undertaking benefited from this October 19 ruling by Justice Sandeep V Marne.
