Bombay HC Suggests OCI Cricketers Acquire Indian Citizenship to Play

The Bombay High Court advised young cricketers holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards to consider acquiring Indian citizenship if they want to represent India. The court was hearing petitions by 12 OCI cardholders challenging BCCI's rule requiring an Indian passport for participation in domestic tournaments and the IPL. The bench noted India has no shortage of talent and questioned why OCI players do not apply for citizenship if keen to represent India.
