Bombay HC Criticizes ECI's Form 6 Demand, Protects Voters from Prosecution

The Goa bench of the Bombay High Court ruled that forcing voters who have changed residence to submit Form 6 or pre-filled enumeration forms during the Special Intensive Revision exercise compels them to make false declarations. The court noted this could expose voters to prosecution under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950. It ordered the Election Commission of India to restore six members of the Salgaonkar family to the electoral roll after their names were wrongly deleted.
