Biswajit Basu Resigns as Fourth Former Calcutta HC Judge from Bengal SIR Tribunal

Biswajit Basu, a former Calcutta High Court judge, resigned from the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) tribunal on Saturday citing personal reasons. He is the fourth judge to resign, following Indrajit Chatterjee who quit due to travel difficulties. The SIR tribunal was formed to investigate corruption and irregularities in Bengal state departments from 2011 to 2026 under the new BJP government.
