BIMSTEC Adopts Delhi Declaration to Counter Terrorism

On October 13, 2026, India hosted the first-ever BIMSTEC Home Ministers’ Meeting, where member countries adopted the Delhi Declaration. The declaration aims to counter radicalisation, violent extremism, misuse of emerging technologies for terrorism, and terrorist recruitment. Bangladesh was represented by Senior Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury. The declaration was signed by Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
