Bihar to Demand Over ₹10,000 Crore from Centre for Flood Damage
The Bihar government is set to demand more than ₹10,000 crore from the Centre as compensation for extensive flood damage affecting people, agriculture, and public infrastructure. The floods, starting in early September, impacted over 50 lakh people across 2,000 villages in 15 districts. Damage assessments are nearly complete, delayed by a second wave causing further crop and infrastructure losses.
