Bihar to Auction 5,000 Vehicles Seized in Illegal Mining Crackdown

Bihar's Mines and Geology Department plans to auction around 5,000 vehicles seized during anti-illegal mining operations, expecting revenue of about 200 crore rupees. The seized vehicles include tractors, trucks, dumpers, and loaders. Over 8,700 vehicles were confiscated during 2025-26 and 2026-27, but more than 70% of owners did not pay fines to reclaim them. The department is completing legal formalities to proceed with the auction.
