Bernstein lowered its December 2026 Nifty 50 target from 26,000 to 25,000 due to worsening macroeconomic conditions, ongoing crude oil and supply-chain issues, and lack of earnings upgrades. It stated that a long-term capital gains tax cut alone won't sustain foreign institutional investor inflows. The revised target suggests an 8.1% upside, but a further 4-5% rally could push valuations beyond comfort levels at 18.2 times forward earnings.
