The Bangalore Hotels Association has requested the Karnataka government to revoke the dry day order for the upcoming Legislative Council elections, warning of business losses exceeding ₹500 crore. The dry day is set from 4 pm on October 21 to October 23 and on October 27, the vote counting day. The association highlighted that the election involves only about 20,000 voters, mostly women, and the restrictions will cause undue hardship to bars, restaurants, and pubs, impacting the hospitality sector and state excise revenue.
