Bengaluru Corporation Begins Clearing Ganesha Idols from Benniganahalli Lake

Weeks after Ganesh Chaturthi, Bengaluru East City Corporation started removing Ganesha idols immersed in Benniganahalli Lake near Tin Factory. Unlike other lakes with designated immersion tanks, Benniganahalli Lake was not meant for idol immersion, yet hundreds were thrown from the flyover. Residents demand regulated access and fencing to prevent future dumping and pollution. Cleanup is ongoing under civic supervision.

Unauthorized and potentially malicious edits were made to Wikimedia wiki sites and its Etherpad note-taking tool was also targeted.

Sumitomo Corporation from Japan will invest in a 500 MWp solar and wind project with a 200 MWh battery storage system in Bidar, Karnataka. The project is developed by Hero Future Energies, part of the Hero Group.
