Baranica wins pole vault; Mubassina edges Shaili in long jump

Baranica Elangovan, fresh from her Asian Games bronze, won the women's pole vault at the National Open Athletics Championships by clearing 4.10m. She was the first Indian pole vaulter to medal at the Asian Games with a 4.15m clearance. In the women's long jump, Mubassina Mohammed won narrowly with 6.38m, just ahead of Shaili Singh's 6.37m. Mubassina claimed her first major domestic title.
