Bank of Japan to Speed Up ETF Sales, Cut Sell-Off Timeline to 43 Years
The Bank of Japan plans to accelerate the sale of its exchange-traded fund (ETF) holdings, aiming to dispose of 860 billion yen ($5.45 billion) annually at book value. This represents about 0.1% of the market's trading value. The accelerated sales will reduce the estimated time to fully unwind its large stock portfolio from 112 years to 43 years.
