Bangladesh Home Minister to Skip BIMSTEC Meeting in India

Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed will not attend the first-ever BIMSTEC home ministers meeting in New Delhi due to strained India-Bangladesh ties. A delegation led by Senior Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury will represent Bangladesh at the two-day event starting Monday. The meeting aims to enhance security cooperation among BIMSTEC members, including Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Bangladesh took BIMSTEC chairmanship in April 2025.
