Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed will not attend the first BIMSTEC Home Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi on October 13. Instead, a delegation led by Home Affairs Senior Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury will represent Bangladesh. The meeting focuses on regional security, law enforcement, intelligence sharing, and combating terrorism. Ahmed's absence reflects strained India-Bangladesh ties after political upheaval and extradition requests involving former PM Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh currently chairs BIMSTEC, which includes seven member states.
