Bangladesh Agrees New Garment Worker Pay Scale from December
Bangladesh's newly formed wage board agreed on November 4, 2026, to implement a revised pay structure for garment workers starting December. Protests demanding a 30,000-taka minimum wage have disrupted production and led to clashes with police, injuring 58 officers. The board will finalize wage increases in future meetings. Workers will receive their first revised salaries in January 2027.
