Australian Court Rules Apple Must Allow Third-Party iPhone App Stores
The Federal Court of Australia has ruled that Apple must allow third-party app stores on the iPhone starting in 2027. This decision follows antitrust concerns and will require Apple to open iOS to rival app stores and payment systems. Apple has stated it will seek a stay and appeal the ruling. Epic's Fortnite is expected to return to Apple's app store in Australia as a result.
