Australia’s Stingless Bee Honey Shows Promise Against Antibiotic Resistance
Researchers at the University of Sydney are studying honey from stingless bees, known as sugarbag honey, for its medicinal properties. This honey has demonstrated effectiveness against various bacterial and fungal pathogens, including hard-to-treat strains. It is comparable in strength to medical-grade honeys. While propolis showed selective antimicrobial effects, the exact reason for the honey's potency is still unknown, requiring further research to identify its beneficial compounds.
