Audit Reveals West Bengal-Specific Access Restrictions in ECI's ECINET Portal

A third-party audit by civic-tech group Charchagram found that the Election Commission of India's ECINET portal includes a feature restricting Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant EROs (AEROs) in West Bengal from accessing voters' enumeration forms and the notice-and-hearing dashboard. This exclusion was not present for any other state. The audit, conducted in October, could not confirm when or if the feature was activated. The ECI did not respond to queries regarding this finding.
