Astronomers Discover White Dwarfs in Yellow, Green, Pink, and Purple Colors
Astronomers have found that white dwarfs, traditionally thought to be white, can actually appear in colors like yellow, green, pink, and purple. The first known green star, WD J1330+6435, is a white dwarf tinted by sodium. Upcoming surveys may discover 10 to 20 more such stars with unusual colors, challenging previous assumptions about star colors.
