Astronomers using the ALMA telescope have identified a tiny core called the 'dragon egg' in the Dragon Cloud, about 16,300 lightyears from Earth. This core may represent an early stage of massive star formation, containing 2,030 times the Sun's mass. The surrounding clump holds around 1,061 solar masses but emits surprisingly little energy for its size.
