Apple Pay Launches in India with Card-Only Payments, No UPI Support

Apple Pay launched in India on September 30, 2026, supporting only Axis Bank credit cards on Visa and Mastercard networks. It does not support UPI, unlike Google Pay and Paytm. Users can add cards via the Axis Bank or Wallet app and pay using iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch at NFC terminals. Mac support will come later. Supported merchants include Blinkit, Zomato, and Reliance brands. Debit and RuPay cards are not accepted at launch.
