Andhra Pradesh ZPTC, MPTC Elections Mostly Peaceful with Some Violence

Elections for 582 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs) in Andhra Pradesh were largely peaceful, with some violence reported mainly in the Rayalaseema region. Out of 2.54 crore voters, 58.55% voted by 3 p.m. at 30,994 polling stations. A total of 2,169 candidates contested, with 77 elected unopposed. Incidents included petrol bomb throwing near Pulivendula and stone pelting in several districts. Police intervened to control clashes between TDP and YSRCP activists.
